The process of being active within your union can open up a lot of doors to information, A few of us here at PATFR have found a great satisfaction in educating ourselves on the labor movement . Through the course of this week we are studying an article from The Association for Union Democracy website The article comes from the book: Rebels, Reformers, and Racketeers: how insurgents transformed the labor movement, by Herman Benson. We encourage all to read up and share your comments , the article can be accessed by linking here at Chapter 5.

Interesting read. Scary to think that you could be hurt or murdered back in the day just for disagreeing and stating your beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThat's the great thing about today's atmosphere: Now we have the laws in place to protect dissenters and allow them to meet and share their feelings, even if they are different from the official union stance.
None of our brothers or sisters should be worried about standing up for their beliefs.
In keeping with the democratic system of United States of America, it is not only our right, but our duty to keep the leaders of our cause on the right path.
If you feel you are being treated unfairly or in violation of our contract you should and must let it be known to your union representative and then follow up with them to make sure your problems are being addressed.
Who’s the psychotic that set up this Blog? It’s a mess, hard to read and next to impossible to understand. Hopefully it’s done by an apprentice, because a journeyman would at least have some since of order. My God man, I hope your life isn’t as messed-up as this Blog! I’m praying you do not have any children!
